Still, there was bound to be someone, perhaps one of the more reclusive herbalists. The cave was certainly away from the rest of the herd, though, and Aytan couldn't help but wonder who would want to live so far away from the rest of the Havenites. Elysia had even made a small mobile out of shells and small rocks that she had found, and Aytan added this to the vines as well, hoping that the new owners would enjoy it. Stringing vines from the branches and to the rock around the cave, Aytan created a sort of drying-line, and even hung up a few clumps of rarer moss and lavender to dry as a sort of gift to the new homeowners. Pulling up rocks from below the earth's surface and using them to support the entrance, he created a sort of tunnel by throwing up a birch tree whose leaves overshadowed the ground just in front of the cave. Lashing them secure with roots and testing them with a shove or two, he was satisfied that the blockage was secure, and after spreading a thick layer of moss across the floor, he moved onto the outside of the cave.

He began by piling rocks up in the cave, as far back as he could where he could still see what he was doing. Still, he couldn't resists the urge to utilise the space as a den of some kind, and after many days of returning to the den and finding no sign of wildlife, he decided it was time for some remodelling. With no light entering the cave system, it was difficult for him to delve any deeper than a few metres, and he didn't dare go any further for fear of disturbing some kind of wild animal that might be hiding further back in the cave. During his wanderings and explorations of Haven, Aytan had one day discovered a small cave system towards the top of the valley, where the river had once carved a path underground through the mountains before it took the path it did now.
